What are Amazon’s Affiliate Requirements?

The Amazon Affiliate program is a program that allows individuals to earn commission by promoting Amazon products on their website, blog, or social media platform. To earn commissions, the individual (affiliate) must refer customers to Amazon through their unique affiliate link and have those customers make a purchase on Amazon.

To receive payment, Amazon requires that affiliates make at least three qualifying purchases within the first 180 days of signing up. These purchases must be made through the affiliate’s own referral link, and each purchase must be from a unique customer account. The purchases must also be shipped and not returned or canceled.

Once an affiliate has made the three qualifying purchases, they will be eligible to receive payment for any commissions earned through their affiliate links. The payment threshold for the Amazon Affiliate program is $10 for direct deposit and $100 for checks.

Note that the requirements for the Amazon Affiliate program may vary by country, so it’s always a good idea to check the program terms and conditions for your specific location.

Can You Re-apply to Amazon Affiliate Program?

The short answer is yes. Although, Amazon recommends that you re-apply to become an Amazon Affiliate once your blog is more established and has more traffic.

If you are like me, your traffic goes up and down. Right when you think it’s the good time, you go to re-apply and then your traffic plumets.

Don’t despair! I’m going to share with you today a quick and easy way to update your Amazon Affiliate ID in bulk quickly.

Rather than go post by post and manually update your Amazon Affiliate IDs, you can do it quickly in bulk without touching a single post. To put things in perspective if you had 200 posts filled with amazon affiliate links, you wouldn’t want to go into each post to update all the links in that post x 200 posts.

Can You Quickly Change Affiliate IDs for Any Affiliate Program?

This method also works for any affiliate program provided that the you are only changing your affiliate id. Since every affiliate program has it’s own product linking to a specific product, you would not be able to change your affiliate id from one program to another.

For example, if you have only been using Amazon links, but now want to use Shopify links this method will not work, because each referral hyperlink links to a specific product on a specific page with a specific product id. It would be extremely unusual for even the same two products on each platform to have the same product id.

Note that this method will not work if you have shortened your affiliate links using the Amazon Site Stripe short link or a link shortener like Bitly. The reason it will not work is because in a shortened link you can’t actually see your affiliate ID. The method we will be using essentially uses a search and replace function and if you can’t find your old affiliate ID, then there is no way you would be able to find and replace it in bulk.
